Established in 2020, our initiative aims to empower women in central Beqaa by offering courses in literacy, handicrafts, and sewing. We mainly focus on combating domestic violence and exploitation, striving for a community where women are strong and free from violence.
We Are There For Each Other Initiative
We support communities from:
Refugee community building support
"We've built a community hub that includes refugees and hosts, creating a strong, safe space for women of all nationalities. Our initiative has enhanced social peace in the Marj region and we've successfully networked with most active initiatives and organisations in the area, targeting the most marginalized groups in our society."
We Are There For Each Other Initiative on Taking The Lead
Why is the Taking The Lead network important to you?
"The network will help increase our impact to a wider geographical area. We plan to replicate our services elsewhere and challenge preconceived notions about refugees, allowing better communication with donors and collaboration with all organisations at a local and international level, and perhaps participate in decision-making concerning refugees."
With more funding and resources, our organisation could...
"achieve continued impact, capacity building in the refugee community, burden alleviation on the host community, and expanded influence by targeting more areas and more refugees."
A shift from negative to positive narratives about refugees would lead to...
"feeling safe in the host country and having full rights, allowing refugees to live with dignity, without facing humiliating or racist situations."
If refugees could influence decisions that affect them, it would mean...
"the host community treating refugees with respect, enhancing peace and boosting the self-confidence of refugees in contributing positively without feeling burdensome to the host community."
